The Neville Chamberlin Prize in Appeasement - 3/6/24

DOES ANYONE EVEN WANT TO READ THIS ?!?!?!!

This is what I screamed this morning at my home audience ….Sam.

I am totally frustrated.

I’m frustrated that the media frames the news as it is time to move onto the next cycle and call this war a “Wrap.”

Really? How inconvenient that insuring Israel’s safety and security is not an easy thing to achieve. Inconvenient doesn’t mean it’s time to stop now.

For decades Gazans under their leadership have done anything but build the foundations of a civil society. They focused on developing terrorist networks, tunnels, and infrastructure. They educated their children to be killers. They amassed untold weapons all for one purpose. The destruction of Israel.

How can there be a true ceasefire? How can there be a real end of hostilities when Hamas continues to aim for Israel’s destruction ?

All moments in my daily life are tainted or at least tinged because of the moment I am living in. I keep writing to make sense of living in an inflection point. Yes this moment seems momentous. October 7 was an inflection point.

October 7 was a Kristallnacht.

I know a lot that apparently most people, especially politicians and negotiators who think they can ”solve” the problem of Gaza or of Israel with a ceasefire, chose to “overlook.” They choose instead to cherry pick and emphasize very real plight of Gazas civilians. They chose to ignore the ramifications for Israel, and they ignore the simple basic humanitarian fact that all hostages must be released. When will they understand that piecemeal hostage release allows Hamas to continue holding us all hostage.

Why give Hamas this power?

The problem is so much bigger than what the “negotiators” are proposing. The real problem is not addressed with peacemeal agreements. All hostages must be returned. No it is insanity to allow hostages to continue to be hostages.

Did you read the news that Hamas does not know the location or status of all the hostages. Wait a minute! They’re somehow able to give us a running roster of all their dead and injured.

What does that mean?!

Should Hamas be treated like a poor child who can’t be held accountable? Wake up world!!!! Hamas is playing a brilliant game. Why are they being allowed so much slack?

Has anyone considered making a few demands of Hamas?

Let’s start with turning over all hostages now.

Let’s continue with turning in weapons.

Let’s move forward by Gazans rebuilding without Hamas. And without UNWRA.

The right of Israel to be a safe should be, like any other sovereign state, inalienable. Free of rocket attacks, free of terrorist murders. And free of the craven policy of the “Palestinian” “Authority” where  families of terrorists are celebrated and rewarded.

Israel is not Haiti. Israel demands respect from other nations. The Yiddish word “Shanda” perfectly captures the behavior of Hamas and more, the disingenuous attitude of laissez faire by the rest of the world “community.”

Calls for a “ceasefire” reek of the stench of lies and false narratives. The concessions and  appeasement offered up on the world stage may satisfy terrorists for now. But it will not be enough. Their targets go beyond destruction of Israel. They aim for western civilization.

As VP Harris tries to make a come-back and get back in the news this election year, she may win the Neville Chamberlain Award for Promoting Appeasement.

Guess it is time for me to resume daily calls to my representatives I urge you to consider if it is time for you too.
