Matthew Berger, executive director of Robert Kraft’s “Foundation to Combat Antisemitism”, will speak at Temple B’nai Israel on October 3rd and 7 PM as part of the Jewish Federation of Florida’s Gulf Coast’s PRIMER lecture series. There will be a reception after the talk. There is no charge to attend, but you must register for the event at jewishgulfcoast.org/LECTURE.

Co-sponsored by Tampa Bay Jewish National Fund, Mr. Berger will speak about his role in creating the “Blue Square” initiative to combat antisemitism and the growing threat of hate directed at Jews. The #StandUpToJewishHate campaign, introduced in March of this year, seeks to win the hearts and minds of non-Jews and Jews through powerful positive messaging and partnerships, motivating and equipping them to be defenders of and upstanders for Jewish people.

PRIMER, or Promoting Responsibility in Middle East Reporting, was created in 1992 as a means of combatting anti-Jewish and anti-Israel bias in the media, and is now an important part of the Jewish Community Relations Council of the Jewish Federation. The organization brings in leaders of the fight against antisemitism on a quarterly basis.
